Creating a dynamic school website for Pender’s Grove Primary School
Client: Pender’s Grove Primary School
Services: Sustainable WordPress Development, Information Architecture, UX Design, Hosting Setup
Website: pendersgroveps.vic.edu.au
We partnered with Pender’s Grove Primary School in Thornbury to design and build a fresh new digital home that reflects the school’s strong community values and dynamic learning culture.
The site needed to do more than list information. It had to feel warm, approachable and alive. We worked closely with the leadership team to create a structure that showcases the school’s identity and values: Respect, Integrity, Curiosity and Determination, while making it intuitive for families to find what they need quickly.
Design that celebrates learning and inclusivity
The new website uses clean, accessible design with subtle animation and colour accents drawn from the school’s brand palette. Each section, from Teaching & Learning to Community Events, is easy to navigate and mobile-friendly, ensuring a smooth experience for parents and carers on any device.
We implemented flexible content blocks that allow school staff to easily update pages, post news, and highlight upcoming events without needing developer input.
Built with sustainability in mind
In line with Climate Logic’s green website development approach, the site is hosted on energy-efficient infrastructure and optimised to minimise data transfer and page weight. The lightweight WordPress build reduces emissions while maintaining speed and reliability — proving that sustainability and usability can go hand in hand.
The result
The final product is a welcoming, functional, and future-ready school website that connects students, staff, and families through a clear, positive digital experience — all made right here in Melbourne with love by Climate Logic.
What do you need to know?
How does web design impact carbon emissions?
Websites consume energy every time a page is loaded, with servers, networks, and user devices all requiring power. Poorly optimised websites use more energy than necessary, increasing their environmental impact.
How is a sustainable website different from a regular website?
Sustainable websites are designed to minimise energy consumption through lightweight coding, optimised media, green hosting, and efficient UX/UI design.
Can I make my existing website more sustainable?
Yes! We offer sustainable website audits to assess your current site and provide actionable recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.
